CUYO BAYWALK RECREATIONAL PARK

The Cuyo Baywalk Recreational Park is a public waterfront proposal for Cuyo, Palawan, organizing the coastal site into seven program areas; entrance, cycling and walking path, food park, public toilet, viewing deck, baywalk, and parking. A red boardwalk spine runs parallel to the shoreline, anchored by a sculptural lattice viewing deck and a series of circular red pergolas that serve as focal points along the promenade. The plant palette is composed entirely of native and coastal species selected for resilience in a salt-exposed waterfront environment. A two-level floodwall and retaining wall system along the beach edge provides overflow protection while integrating planted boxes at the upper level. The design balances active recreation with passive public space, creating a coherent civic waterfront for the community of Cuyo.
